close ups of my project with TIPS & TRICKS:

the background is created from three different papers - BOOKS and LIBRARY CARD pattern papers, and VANILLA cardstock.

TIP! before adhering the papers together, emboss the middle strip with ORNATE FLOURISH PLATE embossing folder and ruffle the outer edges of the different papers with paper distresser.

for the 12" stripes i used BOOK COVERS foil paper12″ STICKER sheet and CREAM LACE. once everything was on its place, i sprinkled ANTIQUE GOLD and WHITE mist on top.

TIP! adding different materials and inking the edges of your die cuts, will give more depth to your project!

i don’t know if you’ve seen them, but KAISERCRAFT has released amazing COLOURING books and wonderful KAISERCOLOUR gel pens to match them. i have MYSTIC TREASURES at home and I can tell you that the imaged are whimsical and cute and there is something for everybody! the paper is thick and even if you apply three layers of colour, which I did, it won’t leak through. also, the binding of the book is very strong! i had to put a lot of effort into taking the page with the dragonflies out…

TIP! mix a few gel pens together to match the colours of the pattern paper.

TIP! outline the most important word stickers with white gel pen to draw the viewers attention to them!

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

have a lovely week!

CHALLENGE guest designer for SCRAP WITH US

hello crafty friends!

did you know that the very talented and super sweet FIA UITERWIJK has opened a very cool and inspirational challenge site called SCRAP WITH US?
the site is packed with interesting challenges, amazing projects and crafty chats.

she invited me to be a GUEST DESIGNER for february and to play along in their design team challenge

the challenge with month is a sketch and a colour combo one.

there is a card sketch and a layout sketch, which you need to follow:

and there is also an optional colour palette that you can use for an extra entry in the random draw:

easy-peasy, right?! :-)

to create my card i used KAISERCRAFT's XO collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS'  online store}.

i used white card base, which i altered with TIM HOLTZ tea dye distress ink. the colorful background paper is from the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection.

i used also a paper doily and fussy cut the banners from pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD. the rest of the die cut embellishments are from  the COLLECTABLES pack.

as well as my sentiment -

i added a few pinkish flowers and die cut swirls and leaves {MARIANNE DESIGN dies} to finish my design.

i hope you enjoyed today's post and i can't wait to see your creations in the GALLERY!

have fun creating!

MAGICAL THING {kaisercraft & merly impressions}

hello crafty friends!

i would like to share with you today my latest layout feat. KAISERCRAFT's “TRUE LOVE” collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store}. if you ask me, there is nothing better than a paper line filled with shiny hearts and great quotes to play with in the month of ST. VALENTINE!

"MAGICAL THING"

for my background i used KAISERCARD licorice weave cardstock. i doodled the frame around it using GELLY roll pen WHITE. then i cut off about 1cm from each site of MY HONEY pattern paper, ruffled it edges and adhered it on top of the licorice cardstock using KAISERCRAFT 6mm double-sided tape.

to alter my background further i added a layer of DINA WAKLEY black gesso in the middle of my page and sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – WHITE and ANTIQUE GOLD all over my background papers.

then i adhered my picture to a 10x15cm piece of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock, ruffled its edges and adhered both of them to a black pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection. before I adhered all the layers together i shaped the edges of the pattern paper with a MARTHA STEWART edge punch and added an extra stripe of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock under it. i used KAISERCRAFT 18mm foam tape to attach the layers to the background.

to decorate my picture i die cut different elegant shapes using a glossy papers from the mini PAPER PADlicorice cardstock and various KAISERCRAFT cutting dies – FOLIAGEFLOURISH and ORNATE CHARM. the dies cut easily through any type of cardstock and the shapes are exquisite!

i also added pre-cut images from the COLLECTABLE pack and a saying sticker from the 12″ STICKER SHEET as a title.

for the flower cluster i used MINI PAPER BLOOMS – coconut and PAPER BLOOMS – terracotta, and a lot of different die cut leaves and swirls {some of the i cut with dies from MARIANNE DESIGN}.

to finish off my design i added a few RHINESTONES sparklets – SAFFRON.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

i'm curious what is on your crafting table in the month of ST. VALENTINE.

believe in fairies {KAISERCRAFT & MERLY IMPRESSIONS}

hello KAISERCRAFT fans,

today i'm sharing my last project for november for MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog packed with fairies, butterflies, silver decorations and flowers of course. all the papers are from KAISERCRAFT's “FAIRY DUST” collection {available, together with all of the embellishments at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store}.

"BELIEVE IN FAIRIES"

for my background i used the SPARKLY pattern paper from the “FAIRY DUST” collection. i sprinkled RANGER liquid silver ink on top of it and then i stamped the small butterfly and the dandelion using the clear stamp set {matching the collection} and ADIRONDACK paint dabber – silver.

to create the layers under my picture i used KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and FAIRY DUST mini paper pad. i shaped the edges with MARTHA STEWART "doily lace" edge punch, embossed slightly the punched part and adhered all the layers together using mounting foam tape.

to embellish my picture i used die cuts from the the mini paper pad and the COLLECTABLES pack and stickers from the 12″ STICKER SHEET

i created the flower cluster with different coloured paper blooms {mini paper blooms – COCONUT, paper blooms – AMETHYST and SEA BREEZE}.

for the foliage i used KAISERCRAFT decorative die – BERRY VINE with KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and MARIANNE DESIGN dies with pattern paper from the mini paper pad. then i added STICKLES – star dust and RHINESTONES – blue grey to embellish the die cuts.

for my title i used a die cut from the COLLECTABLES pack, which i altered with STICKLES – star dust and a sticker from the 12″ STICKER SHEET for my subtitle.

THANK YOU for stopping by today!

have a lovely creative weekend!
