BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES {kaisercraft & merly impressions}

happy leap day!

it is once every 4 years, so spend it wisely :-)

i decided to get some new memories today and i've spent the whole day wondering around the city, drinking coffee and smoothies, and enjoying the kids and the spring sun. nothing creative, nothing productive - just me, the kids and my photo camera.

and now at the end of this wonderful day i would like to share my latest creation for MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog {feat. KAISERCRAFT's  true love collection} -

"BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES"

for my background i used MY BABY pattern paper. i distressed its edges and stitched the pink frame around it by hand. then i adhered the pattern paper on top of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and added a dimensional layer using DAMASK QUARTERS 12×12 stencil and TEXTURE PASTE.

once the TEXTURE PASTE has dried, i sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – CANDY, WHITE and PINK on top.

to create the layers under my picture i used pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD. i fussy cut the flowers and the leaves from MY DARLING pattern paper and adhered them around the picture using MOUNTING FOAM tape.

i got the inspired to create the paper springs from my very talented friend SUSAN SMIT. it is the perfect way to use all of your paper scraps and to add something fun to your pages or your cards.

i fussy cut the foil hearts from a foil sheet in the mini PAPER PAD and the darker once from MY HONEY pattern paper.

the  title is written using quote stickers from the 12″ STICKER SHEET. i doodled the frame around them using GELLY ROLL PEN – white.

the rest of the embellishments are from the COLLECTABLES PACK and the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection.

to finish off my design i added RHINESTONES – soft pink.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

INDIGOBLU february challenge "red is the colour"

hello crafty peeps!

i would like to share with you this month's INDIGOBLU challenge - "RED is the COLOUR"! it's just about the colour red and that doesn't mean just hearts, it's anything you like with INDIGOBLU stamps and a bit of red.

and here is some inspiration form me -

"LEAVE a TRAIL"

to create this card i used -

INDIGOBLU blazing poppies A6 red rubber stamp
to create my card i cut off a 9x14cm panel from one of the pattern papers from the INDIGOBLU vintage memories - mixed media paper pad and heat embossed the image using SILVER embossing powder and a heat gun.

after it had cooled down, i coloured the poppies using POSTBOX RED paint...

and PEPPERMINT TEA and PINK ICED GEM paints for the leaves and the small flowers.

i stamped my sentiment using INDIGOBLU grand tour III A5 red rubber stamp and embossing ink. i added red embossing powder and heat embossed the set. then i cut out the words, inked their edges with TIM HOLTZ distress ink pad MINI KIT #11 {tea dye}.

i hope you enjoyed my post today!

if you need more inspiration, go to INDIGOBLU challenge blog where the rest of the design team is sharing their creativity. here is the direct link to the "RED is the COLOUR" challenge post.

CHALLENGE guest designer for SCRAP WITH US

hello crafty friends!

did you know that the very talented and super sweet FIA UITERWIJK has opened a very cool and inspirational challenge site called SCRAP WITH US?
the site is packed with interesting challenges, amazing projects and crafty chats.

she invited me to be a GUEST DESIGNER for february and to play along in their design team challenge

the challenge with month is a sketch and a colour combo one.

there is a card sketch and a layout sketch, which you need to follow:

and there is also an optional colour palette that you can use for an extra entry in the random draw:

easy-peasy, right?! :-)

to create my card i used KAISERCRAFT's XO collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS'  online store}.

i used white card base, which i altered with TIM HOLTZ tea dye distress ink. the colorful background paper is from the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection.

i used also a paper doily and fussy cut the banners from pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD. the rest of the die cut embellishments are from  the COLLECTABLES pack.

as well as my sentiment -

i added a few pinkish flowers and die cut swirls and leaves {MARIANNE DESIGN dies} to finish my design.

i hope you enjoyed today's post and i can't wait to see your creations in the GALLERY!

have fun creating!

MAGICAL THING {kaisercraft & merly impressions}

hello crafty friends!

i would like to share with you today my latest layout feat. KAISERCRAFT's “TRUE LOVE” collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store}. if you ask me, there is nothing better than a paper line filled with shiny hearts and great quotes to play with in the month of ST. VALENTINE!

"MAGICAL THING"

for my background i used KAISERCARD licorice weave cardstock. i doodled the frame around it using GELLY roll pen WHITE. then i cut off about 1cm from each site of MY HONEY pattern paper, ruffled it edges and adhered it on top of the licorice cardstock using KAISERCRAFT 6mm double-sided tape.

to alter my background further i added a layer of DINA WAKLEY black gesso in the middle of my page and sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – WHITE and ANTIQUE GOLD all over my background papers.

then i adhered my picture to a 10x15cm piece of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock, ruffled its edges and adhered both of them to a black pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection. before I adhered all the layers together i shaped the edges of the pattern paper with a MARTHA STEWART edge punch and added an extra stripe of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock under it. i used KAISERCRAFT 18mm foam tape to attach the layers to the background.

to decorate my picture i die cut different elegant shapes using a glossy papers from the mini PAPER PADlicorice cardstock and various KAISERCRAFT cutting dies – FOLIAGEFLOURISH and ORNATE CHARM. the dies cut easily through any type of cardstock and the shapes are exquisite!

i also added pre-cut images from the COLLECTABLE pack and a saying sticker from the 12″ STICKER SHEET as a title.

for the flower cluster i used MINI PAPER BLOOMS – coconut and PAPER BLOOMS – terracotta, and a lot of different die cut leaves and swirls {some of the i cut with dies from MARIANNE DESIGN}.

to finish off my design i added a few RHINESTONES sparklets – SAFFRON.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

i'm curious what is on your crafting table in the month of ST. VALENTINE.
