on a personal note...

hello lovely friends!

today my post is not about my crafty creations, it's about ME.

you see, when i read the blogs of fellow crafters, i often wonder about how do they live, what do they do IRL... i see the fabulous work they are posting and i read about their latest scrapbooking adventures, but sometimes i'm just curious about what's beyond their traditional bio, posted on their profile...

so, to break the ice, here is a little bit about me and my personal paradise on earth.

i live in the center of a picturesque little town in the NETHERLANDS -

HAARLEM

i'm and i'll always be a city girl. i cannot imagine living away from the civilization.

i grew up in SOFIA, the capital city of BULGARIA and i'll always miss the noise and busyness of the big city.

my husband {who i love wholeheartedly} and i met in SOFIA. but since he comes from the NETHERLANDS, eventually we moved here. together we have two little munchkins - ELISE - our 9 years old princess and THEO - 2 years old naughty monster.

we also have two siamese cats - SPASKO - 11 years old

and AXL - a 2 months old cutie

we all live in a beautiful house from 16th century, which my hubby rebuild himself {if my hobby is scrapbooking, his is renovating} and he is much better in it, than i am in scrapping:-)

some personal notes about me - i'm a coffee person - can't get through a day with less than 5 cups of coffee; i {LOVE} chocolate and i would never drink PEPSI. i'm addicted to books and to GILMORE GIRLS.

we love to travel! any minute we have free, we go to some new exotic place somewhere in the world.
recently we discovered the wonder of cruising and this is our favourite way of travelling now! it's amazing how you go to bed in ITALY and you wake up in ISRAEL. the world looks much smaller these days...

this is just a tiny bit about me for the time being, but in the future i will be sharing more.

thank you for stopping by!

and i hope to learn some more about you!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

never stop DREAMING {DT work for heartfelt creations}

hello scrappy friends!

it's wednesday again and it is time for another reveal at HEARTFELT CREATIONS!

this time i've got something different for you - a mixed media project featuring my little ELISE -

"never stop DREAMING"

heartfelt creations products used on this project
HCPC 3480 brookside manor precut set
HCPC 3476 mailbox surprise precut set
HCPC 3473 tattered background precut set
HCPC 3433 book frame 1 precut set
HCPC 3335 elegant snowflake medallions precut set
HCPC 3363 inspire me sentiments precut set
HCPC 3318 daisy patch flowers precut set
HCPC 3303 posy patch flowers precut set
HCPC 3376 distressed leaves precut set
HCPC 3443 palace entry precut set
HCPC 3354 classic message precut set
HCPC 3323 large elegant word background precut set
 HCD 723 garden romance die
 HCD 703 daisy patch die
 HCD 701 posy patch die
HCD 718 decorative chateau gate die
 nested leaves nestabilities

i started with 30 x 30 plain cardboard, which i covered with gesso and TIM HOLTZ distress ink. i blended three coloures to achieve the final result -  tea dye, weathered wood and peeled paint.

then i used THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "summer" stencil to outline my image. i glued ELISE's face onto the cardboard and repeated the stenciled image with brown COPIC CIAO marker.

when everything was dry i begun stamping! i used HC large elegant word background set and HC tattered background set with RANGER "coffee" archival ink pad and HC book frame 1 set with pink ink. i stamped the corner image from HC palace entry set with golden ink at the two top corners. when the ink was dry, i rubbed the edges of the cardboard with TIM HOLTZ' “tattered rose” distress ink to finish off  my background.

using HC elegant snowflake medallions set and green ink i created the garden at the bottom of the page. then i cut three garden fences with HC garden romance die, glued them on top of the stamped "flowers" and embellished them with white opal liquid pearls, stamped flowers and birds.

i cut the window from HC decorative chateau gate die, but used only the swirl to embellish the my background.

then i tore a sheet of creme mulberry paper in little pieces and glue them around ELISE'S face. when i finished, i outlined the hair one more time.

i stamp the word SPECIAL from HC classic message set on the "hair" and the INSPIRE ME sentiment from HC inspire me sentiments set under the picture. and i added green pearls from the FWAB chloe olive green pearl flourish as a necklace.

for the flowers i used HC daisy patch flowers set, HC posy patch flowers set and HC daisy patch die, HC posy patch die and four different colors mulberry paper. i shaped the petals by hand and added a pearl from FLOURISH WITH A BLING adhesive pearls 100 pack "pearl colour" to the center of the blooms.

i used green mulberry paper for the leaves {HC distressed leaves set and nested leaves nestabilities die}.

i took the small bird house {HC mailbox surprise set} and the small birds and butterflies {HC brookside manor set} and stamped few images directly on the background cardboard. then i took my mulberry papers and created colourful  birds and butterflies as well.

for the title i used wooden letters, which i coloured with TIM HOLTZ’ "wild honey" and "tattered rose" distress ink pads.

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

come back tomorrow for more scrappy creations!

Emmy

INORI final sale

good morning lovely friends!

an year ago the amazing tomoko takahashi started an amazing initiative, called INORI. she asked crafters from all over the word if we would like to donate some of our hand-made creations. then she would sale them online and the money will go to the japan red cross. this fund raising was meant to help people who were effected  by the earthquake in tohoku, japan. a very noble cause, which i could not pass!

in the last year, tomoko had regular sales at her online community. and today the final sale begins {i've sent hand-made cards for it}:

you can find more details about this cause and the final sale on TOMOKO's blog

it amazing to see that even with our hobby we can still make a difference in the world!

i'm glad that i could be a part of such an inspiring project!

april showers bring may flowers

hello scrappy friends!

this month it is my turn to hold the COLOUR challenge at scrapbook challenges and here is what i cooked up for you:

i used MELON HUES colour palette from the design seeds website:

my papers are from PRIMA's latest collection "sun kiss". i did a lot of fussy cutting, glittering and misting.

for the big sunflower i used heartfelt creations HCPC 3375 flora grande 1 precut set. i separated the petals and embossed them by hand. then i arranged them around my picture.

the green pearly swirls are from flourish with a bling "chloe pearl flourish olive green". i cut it in few pieces and arranged the individual parts around my design.

for the title i used the crafter's workshop alphabet template and PRIMA marketing alpha stickers.

i used various flowers to complete my framing - PRIMA marketing, marianne design, etc.

i fussy cut. emboss and glittered the flowers from the papers and use them as embellishments as well.

i hope to see you at SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES!
