christmas cards and die cuts {DT work for PAPERHAUS}

hello lovely friends,

it's almost DECEMBER and christmas is just around the corner:-) so, i thought it is never too early for a couple of christmas cards!

today i want to share a new way of using your cutting dies with you – not with paper, but with plastic.

all you need is a die cutting machine {of any kind},  a few christmas / winter / general dies and a piece of plastic. you can use a special craft plastic sheet or an old packaging.

step 1: die cut the elements you would like to use from the plastic sheet.

 step 2: cover the die cuts with gesso. i've putted some more gesso on the branches of the tree to achieve a 3d look. allow it to dry.

 step 3: color the die cuts to your liking. i colored the hat of the snowman with acrylic paint and his nose with distress markers. then i stamped the sentiment directly on the layer of gesso.

for the winter tree i used TIM HOLTZ' distress markers and modeling paste for the snow.

 step 4: assemble your cards.

to complete my cards i used various techniques and products. the frame is made with a digi-stamp, colored with distress markers and embossing powder.

 for the snowflakes i used puffy paint, rhinestones and silver pen.

supply list:
TIM HOLTZ distress markers set
TIM HOLTZ bigz die “snow tree”
TIM HOLTZ bigz die “winter wonder”
TIM HOLTZ distress ink pad “fired brick”
TIM HOLTZ distress ink pad “vintage photo”
RANGER ink embossing powder silver
RANGER ink embossing powder gold
VERSAMARK watermark stamp pad
MARIANNE DESIGN “eline’s warm winter wishes” paper pad
MARIANNE DESIGN “eline’s scandinavian winter” paper pad
RANGER gesso
modeling paste

i hope you enjoyed today’s post!

come back soon as i'll be continuing to spread the christmas spirit!

autumn beauty {DT work for scrapbook challenges}

hello scrappy friends!

another week and another amazing sketch from SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGES for you to play with - sketch #321. and here is my interpretation:

"autumn BEAUTY"

and here is sketch #321:

i used one of BASIC GREY vintage collection for my page "two scoops". i really love the colour palette of this paper line and it matches my picture perfectly.

i used PRIMA marketing felt flowers "hermosa" blue and yellow crochet flowers as embellishments.

the lovely butterfly is from PETALOO. the title letters and the stickers are from the matching sticker sheet from the same collection.

to give more depth to my layout i used donna downey poppies and peonies mask with modeling paste. after the image was dry i coloured it with yelowish PANPASTELS.

i hope you enjoyed today's post.

and i can't wait to see your creations in SC gallery!

hugs 'n smiles,

oh, how i love thee {DT work for PaperHaus}

hello scrappy friends,

today i want to share my latest layout, which i made for PAPERHAUS magazine -

"oh, how i love thee"

i used one of my personal favorite MY MIND'S EYE collections - “abby road” - to create this layout.

on the picture are my little darlings - THEO and ELISE, and their adorable cousin, WILLY.

 i started with a white cardstock. i colored it with TIM HOLTZ' "fired brick" distress ink pad. using THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "damask" template and modeling paste i created the dimensional pattern on the background.

 the spatters i made with a pink GLIMMER GLAM.

i used different MME stamps to create the doily pattern on my flowers.

for some extra glimmer and glam i added different color rhinestones and PRIMA marketing resin elements. i colored then with gilmmer glam - it is pretty useful stuff if you think about it and the effect is awesome!

the border punch is from MARTHA STEWART "cherish". i used paper tape and more stamping to decorate my layout.

i die cut the title with TIM HOLTZ "alphabetical" die and MELISSA FRANCES "with all my heart" resin embellishments.

the colorful banners are stamped with MME stamps and cut out MME pattern paper. i punched the frame around my picture with MS "pansy" edge punch.

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

come back soon!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

about a boy {DT work for paperhaus}

hello lovelies!

a new month and we've got a new sketch to play with at the PAPERHAUS magazine

this time i decided to go green:-)

"ABOUT A BOY"

and here is the sketch from our very talented LINDA:

to create my layout i mixed various products:
webster's pages "ladies & gents" collection and alpha stickers
flourish with a bling "grace pearl flourish teal"
the crafter's workshop "damask" 6" x 6" template
PRIMA marketing "craftsman" clear stamps
PRIMA marketing resin architecture
TIM HOLTZ stampers anonymous "journey"
TIM HOLTZ "admit one" rubber stamps
inkadinkado "steampunk" clear stamps

i begun by covering the green cardstock with gesso. after it was dry i added the damask pattern with silver paper paste and modelling paste. for the chippies i used RANGER "copper" embossing powder.

for the title i used various stamps from TIM HOLTZ - he has the best sayings ever:-) the light bulbs i stamped with PRIMA stamps.

the air balloons are stamped with inkadinakdo stamps.

i coloured the resin architectural element with gesso en glimmer mist to match the colour palette of my design.

the paper edge with vines is coloured with TIM HOLTZ distress markers.

that was all for today!

have a great rest of the week!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
