summer smile {SPARKLE N SPRINKLE}

hello sparkly friends!

i've got a new sparkly layout to share today!

i don’t know about you, but i’m really done with the rainy cold weather in HOLLAND.
here is something to look forward to -

"SUMMER SMILE"

lately i'm really into customized background papers:-) there are so much fun to create and you can really match the look and feel of your picture in the most perfect way!

here is how i created the background for this layout in a few easy-peasy steps:
1. you need a white cardstock, watermark ink, a masking template and your favorite embossing powders.

2. place the template onto the white cardstock sheet. add watermark ink to the areas you want to color first, remove the masking template and sprinkle embossing powder on top of it. heat emboss the set.

3. repeat the steps above for every color you want to add to your background.
i used SNS moss star embossing powder [EP430] and skylight embossing powder [EP212].

once the embossing powders cool down, you can begin building up your design.

to alter the chipboard frame {CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS "time flies" frame set} i used mediterranean star embossing powder [EP429]. i layered the picture on a slightly bigger light brown cardstock and adhered it under the frame with 3d foam squares.

i used different pattern papers from the very boyish MY MIND'S EYE "lime twist" collection to embellish my page.

and three different types of washi tape – i used two as a background stripes, from the third one i cut out the little cameras and placed them on the green dotted paper.

for my title i used CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS "social hash tags" chipboard set. i covered the words with SNS white detail embossing powder [EP298] first to create the basis for my main colour - the yellow of the dandy dandelion embossing powder [EP178]. adding a white layer to cover the natural colour of the chippie, really made the yellow shine on my title.

here are some more close ups of my layout:

i fussy cut the little hot air balloons from the pattern paper, embossed them and adhered them to my background with 3d foam squares

as you can see i used the negative of a die cut gear wheel, which i used previously on another layout - yep, i'm saving everything from my favourite collections!

i hope you enjoyed today’s post!
have a great weekend!

hugs 'n smiles,

What a gorgeous layout Emmy, and you have so many details in there. Love the embossed background and those little hot ail balloons are just an awesome touch. Liked the tip about the white on top of the chipboard first. I'll try to remember that.
