TUTORIAL with gesso, gelatos and punchinella {faber-castell}

hello scrappy friends!

how is your week going? i had a busy one with friends visiting, fairy events and birthdays! i'm tired, happy and i've got a lot of pictures to scrap, of course:-)

today, i would like to share a tutorial i prepared for FABER-CASTELL design memory craft - how to alter your background using gesso, gelatos and punchinella.

"LOVE"

step 1: you need a stripe of punchinella, FABER-CASTELL design memory craft gesso and gelatos® tool set .

step 2: mark with a pencil {art GRIP® color pencils: NEUTRAL - i used the black one} where you picture, title and embellishments will be. cut a stripe of punchinella and begin applying the GESSO with the palette knife from the tool set. allow it to dry.

step 3: when the GESSO is dry, begin adding color using design memory craft GELATOS® - snow cone, red cherry, margarita mix. the colors blend very easy and you can add layer after layer, until you are satisfied with the result. allow it to dry.

for the edge i used design memory craft gelatos® - snow cone and water.

step 4: begin working on your title. this time i decided to draw it directly on my background. i used art GRIP® aquarelles: YELLOW (#770111) and PITT® artist pens writing sets 4 ct.: RED/YELLOW (#770076).

first i outlined the letters with a pencil and then i colored them with two shades of red art GRIP® aquarelles. after i was satisfied with the result, i went over my design with a wet brush to blend the reds together.

i used various chippies to embellish my layout. i covered them with gesso first and then with TIM HOLTZ distress crackle paint "fired brick".

to create the paper embellishments, i used SIZZIX and TIM HOLTZ dies.

i covered the chipboard tags {MAYA ROADS} with gesso, embellished them with pattern paper and added the silver plated heart to the banner.

i used WEBSTER'S PAGES "all about me" collection.

here is a list with some of the products i used on this layout:

i hope you enjoyed my little tutorial today!

have a lovely SEPTEMBER day!

hugs 'n smiles,
