THEO's rainbow {creative embellishments}

hello scrappy friends!

i can't believe it is APRIL already!!! where did the time go... but since it is a new month, there is also a new challenge over at CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS with a BIG surprise this month! 

here is my a bit of inspiration from me - 

"THEO'S RAINBOW"

and here are the challenge details - 

since APRIL is NICOLLE's {the owner of creative embellishments} birthday month, the inspiration photo is filled with birthday themed images, but you can be interpret it in any way you would like. there are so many possibilities! and the twist is to use at least 4 of the 10 items in the list below on your project.

list of items {you must use at least 4 of them}:

* straws/rolled paper 

* trims - ribbon, lace, bakers twine or hemp 

* doodle 

* enamel dots or buttons 

* mist / paint 

* texture paste, gesso 

* a handmade flower 

* embossing - dry or heat 

* bling - rhinestones or pearls 

* a flourish

here are some close ups of my project and a detailed product information:

i started with white cardstock, which i altered with CE distressed chicken wire background stamp and paint splashes. i added the arrow pattern with THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "mini arrows chevron" masking template and TIM HOLTZ "broken china" distress ink. after the ink was dry i added another layer with THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "mini harlequin" mask and texture paste {the 1st one of the 4 must use items}. 

i also used TCW "mini subway" mask with brown/red ink and to finish off my design i splattered a bit of green GLIMMER MIST {the 2nd of the 4 must use items} on my background paper. 

to gear up my page i used CE mini gears 3/4" set, gears 1" set and gears 1 1/2" set.

i altered them with RAGNER yellow pain dabber and SPARKLE N SPRINKLE "copper dreams" embossing powder. 

for my subtitle i used one of my favourite CE chippies - the social hash tag chipboard set. i embellished it with TIM HOLTZ idea-ology paper string stripes twine - orange {the 3rd one of the 4 must use items}. i also added black/white twine to my tag.

to create my layout i used KAISERCRAFT "garage days" collection. for my title i used letters from the sticker sheet, which i adhered with mounting tape.

for the large chipboard arrows i used CE chevron border/background set.

i layered different die cuts from the COLLECTABLES pack to embellish my picture.
