enjoy the journey {PAPERHAUS magazine}

hello scrappy friends!

i can't believe that it has been that long since my last post! it is vacation time here in HOLLAND and i took the two free weeks my kids had from school to visit my home country - BULGARIA.

one thing lead to another and we ended up in GREECE with my sister, celebrating EASTER:-)

but i will make up for it! :-) i'm sure you have heard of the PAPERHAUS magazine by now... and here is one of the recent projects i made for them -

"ENJOY the JOURNEY"

i based my layout on the PAPERHAUS may 2013 sketch, created by the very talented TRINA McCLUNE:

for my layout i used K & COMPANY "sea glass" collection and a lot of different stamps and dies.

the title is stamped with FABER-CASTELL stampers big brush pen en TIM HOLTZ "just thoughts" stamp set. for the fancy corners i uses GLITZ design "afternoon muse" clear stamps.

the subtitle is also from TIM HOLTZ. i doodled the edges of my banners with PITT ARTIST PENS to create a deeper visual effect.

all the embellishments are die cut or fussy cut of the pattern paper. i used various cutting dies - SPELLBINDERS "picot circles" and "fancy tags two" {i cut the tag in two to frame my pictures}.

the banners i cut by hand. that's why they all are unique :-)

as per last month we're very excited to share the blog with a guest designer who participated in one of our sketch challenges!

all you need to do is complete a layout using the may sketch and post it under PAPERHAUS' original blog post.

i hope you will join us this month!

me @ 35 {PAPERHAUS}

hello scrappy friends!

today we start a new feature at the PAPERHAUS magazine - REMEMBER ME.

"remember me" is all about getting ourselves into our albums. it's telling our own stories and not being afraid of the photos or stories.

and here it is

"ME @ 35"

i used WEBSTER'S PAGES' "ladies and gents" collection and black cardstock.

to personalise my background i used TIM HOLTZ' stamps with embossing powder...

... PRIMA marketing masking template "poppies and peonies" with modeling paste...

and a lot of fussy cuts elements, decorated with glitter glue.

i used FLOURISH WITH A BLING "grace pearl flourish teal"...

... and a lot of fussy cut elements and stickers to decorate my page.

for my title i used pattern paper strips and stamped words.

thank you for visiting me today!

hugs 'n smiles,

celebrating mother's day

hello crafty mommies:-)

today is 12th of may - MOTHER's DAY and boy, i got spoiled! strawberry cake, flowers and a lovely  hand-made present from my munchkins!

so, here is one for all the mothers out there -

ENJOY YOUR DAY!

for my card i used PRIMA marketing "almanac" collection.

my card starts with a peach layer of cardstock 10 x 15cm. from there i added layer upon layer of alternating blacks, whites and peach patterns.

for the doilies i used SPELLBINDERS "classic scalloped circles" die and pattern paper. the border punch is from MARTHA STEWART " hydrangeas" edge punch.

but the crowning glory is the layer topped with the new DIE-VERSIONS "#1 Mom" Sweet Spot die and a sweet cluster of roses. i matted the sweet spot die cut on a slightly larger scalloped circle.

i hope you enjoyed my creation!

have a FABULOUS mother's day!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

thank you, MOM

hello scrappy friends!

it is 12th of may and it is MOTHER's day in the netherlands! and this year i'm double blessed - i've got enormously spoiled from my two little munchkins and my mom is visiting from BULGARIA, so i get to spend this precious holiday with her!

so, i thought of making something special for my mom -

"THANK YOU, MOM!"

on this picture my mom is 17 years old - it was made for her high school graduation. i choose it for no particular reason... just because i like it so much :-)

i started {as i often do lately} with white cardstock, THE CRAFTER's WORKSHOP "mini bricks" doodling template and PANPASTELS to create my background. i did a lot of stamping - mainly with some of my vintage PRIMA marketing stamps.

the clock is fussy cut from pattern paper {PRIMA marketing "almanac collection"} and layered on a zalm coloured cardstock. i used SPELLBINDERS' "scalloped circles' die to shape the base for the clock and embellished it with RANGER "onyx" liquid pearls and a black pen.

most of my embellishments i fussy cut from pattern paper. to frame my picture i used a layer of black pattern paper and SPELLBINDERS "fancy tags two" die with liquid pearls.

for the banner i used yet another SPELLBINDERS die "a nested lacey pennants" and PRIMA marketing cardstock stickers alphabet "typeset". the flowers are from two different collections - "miss godivas - blush" and "angelica rose collection - gem"

for my title i used a combination of different alphabet stickers and hand writing.

SCRAPPERS TIP! - make sure that you don't miss the PRIMA marketing flowers FRIDAY freebie on FACEBOOK - i just printed these journalling cards and they fit perfectly in my design!

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

have a HAPPY WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY everyone!

hugs 'n smiles,

just an ordinary day

hello crafty friends!

i'm finally back from my vacation :-) greece and bulgaria are lovely this time of the year - 30 degrees, blue sky and empty beaches... what more can you wish for...

today i would like to share a project i made for THE PAPERHAUS magazine blog in the beginning of the month -

"just an ordinary day"

i've had these pictures for a while now, but I just couldn't find the right papers, nor the inspiration to create a page for them.

then when i saw the lovely glittery die cut from MY MIND'S EYE "just an ordinary day" and i knew that this was the perfect collection for my pictures.

after all, it was just an ordinary day in the park :-)

i based my layout on MY CREATIVE SKETCHES april sketch:

for my layout i used MY MIND'S EYE lost & found two {rosy} paper line – the colors were perfect for the pictures and having a lot of glitter on the papers was just what i was looking for.

i used a lot of pre-made embellishments from the same collection, but i also created my own, using different SPELLBINDERS' cutting dies and MARTHA STEWART edge punches.

for the banner i used SPELLBINDERS' "picot edge circles" die and different colours patter paper.

i hope you enjoyed my post today!

have a fabulous weekend!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
