BEAUTIFUL & ADORED {merly impressions & kaisercraft}

hello crafty friends!

i know i've neglected my blog the last few months, but what can i say - life happens most unexpectedly and i was busy cooping with it... now everything is back to "normal" - as normal as it can be in a house with two kids, two cats and everything that comes with them - and i promise to share all those projects i've created, but never posted here.

i'm starting with a layout i created for MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog featuring the amazing SAGE and GRACE collection from KAISERCRAFT {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store}. the shabby chic images and the lovely colour palette of this collection, makes it perfect for any girly picture you might have.

decorative die - MINI FOLIAGE
clear stamp - HONEYCOMB

MARTHA STEWART - edge punch

and here are more close ups and some TIPS&TRICKS on how did it -

tailor-made BACKGROUND tutorial in a few easy steps:

STEP 1: alter the cardstock using the designer template and KAISERMIST.

TIP! flip the template to create a mirror effect, but don't forget to clean it first!

STEP 2: use corrugated cardboard and pattern paper to design the background layers.

STEP 3: once you know what colour paper you would like to use, distress the white cardstock using distress ink and clear stamps.

STEP 4: shape the borders of the middle pattern paper with an edge punch and smudge GESSO onto the corrugated cardstock.

STEP 5: flick KAISERMIST - different colours - on top of the different layers.

close ups of the ready project:

you can use a combination of die-cut words and stickers to create your title.

use rhinestones and pearls to decorate the die cuts from the COLLECTABLES pack.

THANK YOU for stopping by today!

have a lovely & creative WEEK!

2017/18 KAISERCRAFT design team application

hello KAISERCRAFT fans!

today i've got a very special layout to share with you. this is my submission for the second round of the 2017/2018 KAISERCRAFT design team call out! i'm very happy and honoured to be chosen to go the second round and to have the pleasure to work with their brand new paper collection LILAC WHISPER.

i decided to use a black and white picture of my daughter, because i thought it will be perfect for the sentiments featured in this paper line. my title was of course easy to assemble - i've seen nothing but JOY from this little girl and she never sees to amaze me!

LILAC WHISPER collection

LILAC WHISPER collectables
COCONUT weave cardstock
rhinestones - ISLAND LAGOON

mini paper blooms - SAGE
mini paper blooms - AMETHYST

and here are the close up progress pictures together with some TIPS & TRICKS on how i did it:

distress the cardstock with gesso. leave it to dry and sprinkle KAISERMIST different colours on top of it.

using the mini template and lilac coloured ink, create extra pattern on the corrugated cardstock.

cut to panels from pattern paper - larger than your picture - distress their edges and adhere them on top of each other using mounting foam tape.

TIP! you can create a pattern or match the pattern from the paper, using wooden shapes.

mat your picture onto white cardstock, adhere it on top of the pattern paper panels and create your design around it using paper blooms, collectable shapes, die cuts and stickers.

and here are some close ups of the finished project:

i hope you enjoyed my project today!

wish me GOOD LUCK and keep your fingers crossed for me, please!

have a wonderful weekend!
