prima BAP may 2011 {elephant FUN}

Hello scrappy friends,

here is my interpretation on may's PRIMA BAP sketch:

i used mainly PRIMA marketing products (as you can see:-). the colours are inspired by the color room palette #53.

i started with a white BAZZIL card stock. But with the help of PRIMA stencil mask set, glimmer mist "coffee shop" and some stitching (to accent the pattern of the mask) - you can create almost any type of paper.

the pattern papers are from the PRIMA "reflection" collection. i used the ek sucess morocco lace edge punch for the border and martha stewart deep edge punch daisy fan and doily lace for the decoration elements.

the title is created with white alphabet rub ons from making memories.

the crystal swirl is PRIMA. i cut it in two and coloured it with my all time favourite copic ciao markers (it was originally grey).

the flowers are a combination from different PRIMA essentials packages (essential 5 peaches and essential 65 jack and jill) and mini roses. the lace is also PRIMA - their new collection is absolutely AMAZING and so easy to work with! the small brown flower is from the arco iris collection - flower center embellishments - reflections.

i used a lot of punches on this layout to create my different decorative layers.

the pictures are from few years ago when me and hubby were in NEPAL and INDIA. we were in one of nepal's national parks were we could go and swim with the elephants. it was an AMAZING experience!

thank you all for taking the time to visit! i do appreciate all of your comments!:-)

sassafras {in the park}

hello bloggers,

i've created this layout for the challenge going on at aussie scrap source. this week challenge was to create a FREESTYLE WHIMSY layout and i think i did a pretty good job;-)

i used some of the AMAZING sassafras papers, mainly from the "life is beautiful" collection.

for the background i used the "lil' brudders" paper. i sprayed it with caribbean blue glimmer mist to add some extra colour and stitched the two blue borders from the "pocket full of rosies" papers.

the sun is 'hand-made' from sheer ribbon and double sided tape (for the tutorial, click here):

there is a lot of fussy cutting on this layout. i used mainly the "fawnd of you too" paper, but i added some PRIMA marketing flowers and rhinestones as well:

the flowers are sprayed with glimmer mist and as you can see there is a lot of stickles glitter glue everywhere:-)

thank you for taking the time to look at my blog!

double ribbon flower tutorial

hello bloggers,

today i want to share with you an easy and fun way to create a ribbon flower for 5 minutes:-)

all you need is a piece of paper, double sided tape, some ribbon and a pair of scissors:

first, you cut a square from you paper and you taped it with the double sided tape:

then you take you ribbon and attach the two colours together:

press one end to the paper square, start twisting the ribbon and gluing it down to the paper:

work from the centre of the square, out:

until you reach the size you desire:

then trim the edges of the paper and you will get your double ribbon flower looking like this:

it is really a very simple and fun technique, and the possibilities are endless!

i used my flower on my latest project - in the park:

i added a button in the middle and stitched some rays to make it look more like a sun.

i hope you enjoyed my easy-flower tutorial and thank you for visiting my blog!

Emmy

little pixie {CCG #192 & dusty attic}

hello lovely friends!

my newest project is a combination between the color combos galore colour challenge #192:

and dusty attic's monthly sketch:

and here is the result:

i used the tinker bell themed papers and embellishments from sandylion, glimmer mist, PRIMA marketing flowers, martha stewart punches, lace and copic ciao markers.

i started with white cardstock and two bottles of glimmer mist - delphinium and caribbean blue. after some spaying and misting the result was fit for a fairy-layout:-)

i used the DUSTY ATTIC dress form #2 chippie, which i embellished with a green lace (it was originally white, but thanks to the WONDERFUL hula hoop glimmer mist, i got the green colour i needed) and blue wings (cut out from glittery cardstock).

for the title i used the sandylion tinker bell alphabet. i added gem stones, which were pre-coloured with copic ciao emerald green (G05) marker.

i ruffled and twisted the ribbons, to create dimensional effect. i stitched a lot as usual and added more gem stones:-)

the 3d pictures of Tinker Bell have no purpose, but there are so cute and i couldn't resist not to add them to my layout:-)

i used PRIMA markeing innocence collection (# 540272) for the white flower. to create the soft off white colour, i sprayed the blossom with perfect pearls mist (perfect pearl) and glimmer mist (Silver). i used martha stewart punches and some glittery cardstock for the butterflies.

and that's how i've created my fairy layout for my LITTLE PIXIE ELISE:-)

thank you stopping by!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

adore {aussie scrap source}

hello bloggers!

this is a layout i made for the challenge going on at the aussie scrap source. the challenge is to create an artsy-grunge layout. i think i've managed the artsy part well, but the grunge... not so sure...

i did a lot of doodling on this layout - i really love my white ball pan:-) i used some PRIMA marketing flowers, k&company stickers and tags, brads and lace.

here are some close ups:

i drew the title first with white pen and then I added stickles diamond glitter glue.

i hope you enjoyed my creation!

the color room palette #58

hello scrappy friends:-)

another palette is up at the color room - the sun room:

the soft colours are perfect for a girly layout, but i've decided to try a boyish one this time:-) my decision was based mainly on the multi-picture sketch - i've got so many "in a row" pictures from theo, when he was a really tiny cute baby, and i always had trouble choosing the best ones... so a 4-picture layout looked like the perfect solution!:-)

here is my attempt to re-create this palette:

i called it "4 in a row" - you can see why:-)

i used the irresistible snuggle bug boy paper line from LYB. they also have a girl version. both collections are perfect for baby pictures - they feature soft, sweet colours and adorable, whimsical snuggle bugs:-)

i started with white card stock, which i sprayed with glimmer mist sunflower. the white half shells mask is just a punched border:-) i used martha stewart's deep edge punch 'daisy fan'.

i used some white lace and paper strips for decoration. the big button comes with the brown print and i added the white stripes to match my design.

for the title I used different alpha & chipboard sets. i coloured the chipboard elements with gesso first and then i added some stickles:-)

the charming laundry chippies are from maya road. i coloured them with gesso first and then i added some of the adorable snuggle bug rub ons, to create the print on my 'baby clothes'.

the cute bug comes from the matching snuggle bug clear cuts.

i really like this pictures of theo. his smile is so cute and adorable and i just had to high-lighted it:-)

i used stickles on the corner heart too.

i really enjoyed myself working on this palette. and i'm definitely going to play along with the next palette as well!:-)

Emmy

MME blog challenge # 23: fun times

hello everybody!

i had a few busy weeks with friends and celebrations:-) and i was away from my helpful dell, but now i'm back and i'm ready to start posting:-)

today i want to share a layout i made for the MME may sketch challenge:

i used the lil' robots paper line from MME. theo is wearing a cute robot t-shirt on those pictures and i thought this collection will be a perfect match!:-)

i drew and cut the big gear wheel myself - it is pretty obvious, eh;-) and as you can see i doodled a lot on this layout, but no stitching... LOL!

i had those cute brads forever, but never managed to place them on any of my projects... up to now!

i added some mod podge dimensional magic to some of the robots. it always looks so good. it makes the images really pop up.

the colour combination is inspired by one of the colour palettes at the color room - palette #39.

i hope you enjoyed my newest creation.

thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful sunday!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
