secret garden

hello scrappy friends!
happy saturday!

just a quick post to share a layout i completed a while ago. i really love how it turned out. may be because these are one of my favourite pictures of ELISE :-)

SECRET GARDEN

i used PRIMA marketing "divine" collection for this layout. i cut the banners from the 12" page and then i layered then with the same banners from the 6" paper pad.

the chippies i cut from the DUSTY ATTIC ornate gate - the part that is covered with the pictures.

all the flowers are from PRIMA - miss godivas {mermaid; caramel and pink}.

i fussy cut different images from the pattern paper to use them as embellishments for my page.

for my title i used two different PRIMA alphabets - canvas and cardstock alphabet stickers.

and here are some more close ups of my project:

THANK YOU for stopping by today!

have a craft sunday!

frog dog studio guest designer: enjoy your life

hello scrappy friends!

today is the day that my project goes live on the FROG DOG STUDIO blog and i can finally share it with you.

a few months ago when TINA invited me to be a guest designer for her FABULOUS august mixed media kit, i was so trilled and i immediately started creating projects in my mind!

and here is one of them

"ENJOY YOUR LIFE"

i started with a white cardstock, metallic paint and a brush.

using the metallic paint i made my background pearly and shimmering. and this is exactly what i needed, since i wanted to match the fantastic VIVA glitter paste from TINA's kit.

after the pearly paint was dry, i began altering my background by adding extra dimension to it – with the glitter paste and THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP damask mini template included in the kit:

...and with the VIVA inka gold platinum paste with the same mask.

both products are easy to work with and the effect is amazing! you can use them as modeling paste to create dimension or as a covering medium to draw and color.

after the glitter and the inka gold were dry i added RANGER silver paint dabber as a frame around my background. but because the color was too dark for my taste, i rubbed extra viva inka gold platinum on top.

then i started working on my embellishments. i used the two book pages and HEARTFELT CREATIONS "vintage floret" die to create my flowers.

i crumpled the petals and added a pearly brad in the middle to finish off their deigns.

the i attached 4 of the 8 ATC cards included in the kit to create the frame for my picture. i rubbed the edge with VIVA inka gold platinum.

when the paint was dry, i adhered my picture on top of the ATC frame and rubbed some more inka gold to mask the edges.

for the small blue flowers i used the flower ribbon included in the kit.

to decorate my flowers i die cut different sizes swirls and leaves from white cardstock. i rub them with VIVA inka gold to give them a light silver shimmering layer.

i fussy cut some of the ephemera pictures and added them to my layout.

the wooden embellishments included in the kit are also fantastic! they can be used on any projects and because they are already painted and altered you can attach them just as they are.

for my title i used one of my favorite quotes. i printed the words on a white cardstock, cut the lines out and distressed the edges with a blue ink. because the colour was a bit darker than i expected, i added a layer of inka gold on top of it.

as you can see the possibilities with the august mixed media kit are endless.

and i didn't use even the half of the materials included in the kit!

make sure to visit the FROG DOG STUDIO blog for more inspirational projects from the design team!

have a wonderful messy day!

Emmy

faber-castell & penny black product swap

hello craft friends!

today i've got a special threat for you - it's the 3rd day of the FABER-CASTELL design memory craft and PENNY BLACK product swap!

the artistry of PENNY BLACK stamps and creative dies along with FABER-CASTELL design memory craft's colorful mix and match mediums take the mystery out of the oh-so-trendy mixed media look! all this week we’ll be sharing projects using PENNY BLACK stamps. check out their crafts HERE and leave them some comment love for a chance to win three stamps from their newest release, colorful christmas. Don’t forget to leave a comment on the FABER-CASTELL design memory craft blog too for a chance to win a $50 prize pack!

and when you combine two amazing companies together - the result is always amazing!

 i started with a piece of white cradstock 10 x 14,5 cm.

i coloured it with the design memory craft GELATOS® - snow cone, cotton candy and pistachio. after i was satisfied with the result, i blended the colours together using the water brush from the gelatos tool set. when my background was dry, i dissolved a little bit of red cherry GELATO in water and splashed it on my card.

i drew the frame around the edge using the PITT arist pen brown #175

using the stamper's big brush pen walnut brown, i stamped the car image on my already dry background. then, using embossing ink and brown embossing powder, i stamped the same image on a piece of white cardstock. the stamp is from the PENNY BLACK' "hot rod!" cling stamp set.

after the embossing powder cooled down, i coloured the image with the design memory craft GELATOS® - lemon, tangerine and red cherry.

i fussy cut the car and adhered it slightly off on top of the first image to create a 3d effect.

for my sentiment i used white cardstock, embossing ink and brown embossing powder, PENNY BLACK' "hot rod!" cling stamp set, design memory craft GELATOS® - lemon, tangerine and red cherry.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!
