kaboodle doodles challenge #175 & Bo Bunny

hello crafty friends!

its monday and it is time for another challenge at KABOODLE DOODLES

this week the theme is "for your FAVOURITE guy"!

and here is a little bit of inspiration from me:

i used Bo Bunny's "timepiece" collection and various embossing and cutting dies.

after i embossed the white cardstock, i coloured the embossed elements with TIM HOLTZ'  "tea dye" and "vintage photo" distress ink pad.

i stamped my sentiment on BO BUNNY pattern paper, using TIM HOLTZ' distress ink and "going somewhere" cling stamp set.

if you wish to see more of the FANTASTIC projects the design team have created, visit KABOODLE DOODLES' blog.

the sponsor this week is DI'S DIGIS DOWNLOADS and the winner will receive a $10 voucher to spend in their store.

and remember, your projects need to be posted by sunday, june 16, 2013 under KABOODLE DOODLES' blog post and the winners will be announced on tuesday, june 18, 2013.

i'm playing with this card at the month card challenge at BO BUNNY. this month's challenge is to create a MASCULINE or a FATHER'S DAY card.

at the beach {FABER-CASTELL & DIE-VERSIONS}

hello scrappy friends!

today i would like to share one of my recent projects featuring the AMAZING FABER-CASTELL design memory craft products and the NEWEST DIE-VERSIONS release "life's a beach" -

"AT THE BEACH"

you've probably already noticed my passion for tailor made, hand painted background papers. today i want to show you how to use art GRIP® aquarelle watercolor pencils, paper crafter crayons™ and stamper's big brush pens to create one of a kind, perfectly fit for your pictures background.

here is a short tutorial i wrote for you:

step 1: you need a white cardstock 12 x 12", THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "hexagons" doodling template, Art GRIP® aquarelles: YELLOW (#770111), water and a brush.

trace the design from the template on to the white cardstock. then use a wet paintbrush to brush over your design to achieve the watercolor effect.

step 2: outline some of the hexagons with matching colors paper crafter crayons™ : RED/YELLOW to give extra depth to your project.

step 3: use matching colors stamper's big brush pens: RED (#770050) to stamp different images to your background.

i used an old INKADINKADO clear stamp for the sea creatures. for the water bubbles i used FLOURISH WITH A BLING "adhesive rhinestones 100 pack - silver", which i coloured with PITT® Artist Pens: RED/YELLOW (#770076) - orange.

to embellish my layout i used BO BUNNY "sun kissed" paper collection and the new JUNE 2013 release from DIE-VERSIONS "life's a beach".

i cut the lovely sand castle with the new WHISPERS "sand castle" die. i layered the die cut on a yellow pattern paper to create a dimensional embellishment. the cute crabs are from the same release - SWEET PETITES "crab". i coloured his body with paper crafter crayons™.

i arranged some of the cardstock sticker words and phrases on a few stripes of green washi tape.

for my title i used another die from the JUNE 2013 release - cute cubes "life is better at the beach"

the fishes are from the INKADINKADO clear stamp set as well.

i doodled the clouds and added the punched border to my design.

the shell is cut with another die from the JUNE 2013 release - WHISPERS "scalloped shell". i cut it in two and added it next to my pictures.

here is a list with some of the products i used:

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

have a wonderful weekend!

and here is a SUNNY project from me -

"WALKING ON SUNSHINE"

i started with white cardstock, 12" background mask and Art GRIP® Aquarelles: YELLOW (#770111). i used five different colors to create my dotted frame.

after i was done drawing, i added just water to get this amazing watercolor painting effect. the best thing about the Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils is that the watercolor pigments dissolve completely and are permanent, waterproof and lightfast when dry. so you can add layer upon layer of different colors, media and textural accents and your colors won't change even a bit.

after the water was dry, i used another mask with a floral motive and Gel Medium (#770303) to give extra dimension to my background paper.

play - happy - smile {PAPERHAUS magazine}

hello scrappy friends!

today is the 3rd DAY of the amazing PAPERHAUS summer delight event

to keep the inspiration flowing, i've created a summer layout TUTORIAL with a tailor made background for you - on the PAPERHAUS blog today -

"PLAY - HAPPY - SMILE"

for this layout i decided to make my own background paper and create my own embellishments.

i started with white 12 x 12” cardstock, the crafter’s workshop "solace" mask and DERWENT colorsoft pencils.

first, i coloured the mask with three different colours:

then i used a soft brush dipped in odourless white spirit to brush over my design to get the oil colors effect.

after my background paper was dry, i began assembling my design. for embellishments i used different paper snippets, which i cut into shapes {arrows, banners} or fussy cut elements from the WEBSTER'S PAGES "palm beach" collection paper.

the pearls and rhinestones are from PRIMA marketing e line self adhesive pearls and rhinestones packs - blue and orange.

i hope you enjoyed my little tutorial today.

make sure to visit the PAPERHAUS magazine blog for more SUMMER DELIGHTfull projects from our design team!

hugs 'n smiles,
