MAGICAL THING {kaisercraft & merly impressions}

hello crafty friends!

i would like to share with you today my latest layout feat. KAISERCRAFT's “TRUE LOVE” collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store}. if you ask me, there is nothing better than a paper line filled with shiny hearts and great quotes to play with in the month of ST. VALENTINE!

"MAGICAL THING"

for my background i used KAISERCARD licorice weave cardstock. i doodled the frame around it using GELLY roll pen WHITE. then i cut off about 1cm from each site of MY HONEY pattern paper, ruffled it edges and adhered it on top of the licorice cardstock using KAISERCRAFT 6mm double-sided tape.

to alter my background further i added a layer of DINA WAKLEY black gesso in the middle of my page and sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – WHITE and ANTIQUE GOLD all over my background papers.

then i adhered my picture to a 10x15cm piece of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock, ruffled its edges and adhered both of them to a black pattern paper from the mini PAPER PAD matching the collection. before I adhered all the layers together i shaped the edges of the pattern paper with a MARTHA STEWART edge punch and added an extra stripe of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock under it. i used KAISERCRAFT 18mm foam tape to attach the layers to the background.

to decorate my picture i die cut different elegant shapes using a glossy papers from the mini PAPER PADlicorice cardstock and various KAISERCRAFT cutting dies – FOLIAGEFLOURISH and ORNATE CHARM. the dies cut easily through any type of cardstock and the shapes are exquisite!

i also added pre-cut images from the COLLECTABLE pack and a saying sticker from the 12″ STICKER SHEET as a title.

for the flower cluster i used MINI PAPER BLOOMS – coconut and PAPER BLOOMS – terracotta, and a lot of different die cut leaves and swirls {some of the i cut with dies from MARIANNE DESIGN}.

to finish off my design i added a few RHINESTONES sparklets – SAFFRON.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

i'm curious what is on your crafting table in the month of ST. VALENTINE.

hugs 'n smiles,
