summer 2013 {merly impressions}

hello scrappy friends!

it's a new month and there is a new challenge at MERLY IMPRESSIONS - create a layout that details -

"my favourite moment (or memory) of 2013"

my favourite memory of 2013 is the summer vacation. i got to be with my sister and her little princess. we live in different countries and we don’t have the chance to be together as much as we would like to. we want the kids to be close friends when they grow up, so every chance we get, we bring them together. last year we managed to go a few times on a holiday with all three of them and this is my favourite picture.

"SUMMER 2013"

to create my layout, i mixed two of my favourite KAISERCRAFT collections - TEA BREAK and LAVENDAR HAZE.

 i used the TEA BREAK monte carlo pattern paper to create my background. i added a layer of an arrow pattern using mettalic paint and THE CRAFTER'S WORKSHOP "arrow chevron" mask. then i added a second pattern using TIM HOLTZ "tea dye" distress ink pad and PRIMA marketing masking template. after the ink has dried, i altered my background further using various KAISERCRAFT clear stamps - “vintage fence background”, “timeless postmarks”, “knowing you” and “hummingbird”.

to finish off my background design i sprinkled some brown GLIMMER MIST and outlined a few of the inked circles.

 for my title i used TIM HOLTZ layering stencil “CARGO”. i outlined the letters with a pencil first and then i filled them in with a KAISERFUSION marker "BELGIUM" - brown.

to create my embellishments i used various pattern papers, some COLLECTABLES cardstock die cuts, and stickers.

 the layers under my picture are made of LAVEDAR HAZE “orchid” double-sided paper and a green pattern paper from the TEA BREAK paper pad. i distressed their edges and added a few stickers to give extra dimension to my layout.

i fussy cut the banners from LAVENDAR HAZE “jacaranda” pattern paper, a yellowish paper stripe from a sheet of the TEA BREAK paper pad and cardstock banners from the TEA BREAK collectables package.

i used various pre-cut cradstock embellishments and die cut elements to decorate my layout.

i coloured the resin heart with GLIMMER MIST.

i stamped the title stripes on a white cradstock using the KAISERCRAFT curiosity collection clear stamp set and brown ink. the green stripe is from the TEA BREAK sticker sheet.

i coloured the resin bird with a mixture of gesso and GLIMMER GLAM.

i hope you i managed to inspire you and you will come and play with this month!

you can find the latest MERLY IMPRESSIONS challenge on the blog – please note that the title (on the layout), must include the year “2013″.

the final date for entries is the 2nd of february 2014.

have a fabulous day!

french months cards {SOMETHING TATTERED}

hello crafty friends!

today is my turn over at the SOMETHING TATTERED blog and i've got a few cards to share with you.

i created my cards using the amazing FRENCH MONTHS STAMPS SETS.

for my first card "MAI" i used the french months clear stamp set "mai", white and pink cardstock, SPELLBINDERS dies, two shades of brown ink, colouring pencils and a green organza ribbon.

i used SPELLBINDERS "timeless recktanges" and "fancy tags two" to create the layers for my card.

i stamped the tulips on a white cardstock, coloured them and fussy cut the separate flowers. then i added them to my project using mounting tape.

then i stamped the swirly MAI title on a white cardstock and die cut it with the fancy tags two die.

for my second card  used the french months stamp set "juillet", white and green cardstock, spellbinders dies, brown ink, colouring pencils and a light purple organza ribbon.

i decorated the JUILLET tag with a purple glitter glue and light purple liquid pearls.

I decorated my card with pearls and a ribbon bow.

My third card I created with the French Months Stamp Set "Septembre", white and yellow cardstock, Spellbinders dies, brown ink, colouring pencils and white organza ribbon.

i stamped the Septembre title on a white cardstock and then I die cut it with a Spellbinders tags die.

For my embellishments I used stamped imaged from the same set, which I coloured and glittered.

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

don't forget to check SOMETHING TATTERED stamp line in their etsy shop.

 have a fabulous week!

sweet thing {sparkle n sprinkle}

hello sparkly friends!

 this is my first post for 2014 and i'm very excited that it is a sparkly one!

i created this layout with SPARKLE N SPRINKLE's newest release -

"SWEET THING"

as usual i started with a white cardstock and i coloured its middle part with DECOART dazzling metallics "OYSTER PEARL". then i applied modelling paste, using PRIMA marketing STARS masking template.

after the modelling paste was dry, i splashed a bit of pink MEMORIES MISTS to give extra color to my background.

  i punched the two large doilies from patter paper {K & COMPANY} with MARTA STEWART circle doily punches and embellished them with RANGER INK liquid pearls "white opal".

 to create the cute sparkly dresses i stamped them on a white cardstock using the SNS #525 dress up stamp set and STAZON jet black ink pad. then i scanned the images and enlarged them with 50% to fit better in my design.

i printed, fussy cut and outlined the enlarged images using SAKURA glue pen and fiery brown embossing powder. after the embossing powder has cooled down, i colored the dresses with a pale yellow COPIC CIAO and filled in the dots and flowers with glue {SAKURA glue pen}. i heat embossed the dress decorations with cotton candy embossing powder.

then i outlined the circles and the flowers on the dresses, filled in the leaves and the bow with glue and sprinkled orchid rose velvet glitter on them.

to finish off my design i added diamond dust glitter to the bottom of the dress.

i adhered the dresses with 3d foam squares.

to embellish my layout, i fussy cut different elements from the pattern paper and arranged them around tmy design.

then i stamped the sentiments from the SNS #525 dress up stamp set on a white cardstock with VERSAMARK ink pad and heat embossed them with fiery brown embossing powder. i design them as banners, distressed the edges with TEA DYE distress ink and adhered them to my layout.

 the cute chipboard dress form is from BLUE FERN STUDIOS "sweetheart dressform" and it is available at the SPARKLE N SPRINKLE shop. i heat embossed the chipboard with a mixture of cotton candy and princess rose embossing powders and fiery brown EP. for the sparkly details i used SAKURA glue pen and carnation glitter.

here is a complete list with all the products you can find in the SPARKLE N SPRINKLE online shop:

have a fabulous weekend!
